Home-Made Wontons, Ten 01, Le Pigeon, Wilf’s, and Showa

Ive been eating.

I got the craving for wonton soup…  So I made wonton dough from scratch, filled it with a mix of pork shrimp, and veggies.  The broth was chicken stock, with lemongrass and ginger, clarified with a boat of the wonton filling.

Off to Portland again

Merguez Corndogs, amazing Duck Wings, Brandade Fritter, and Pig Heart Pastrami at Ten 01

After an extremely disappointing dinner at a restaurant i will not share with you, we all decided that the next dinner would have to be at a place where we would be absolutely guaranteed an incredible dining experience.

We went to Le Pigeon

We had the Foie, Sweetbreads, and Trotter Cake to start.  Main courses were Pork, Chicken, and Duck.  Chef surprised us by hooking it up and sending out Calamari and the most ridiculous Foie Torchon, he even gave us some spoonfuls of some house-made Pheasant Sausage. Finished the dinner with Foie Gras Profiteroles.  Food Boner...

Sorry no pictures, but some places its jut not okay to food nerd it out.

Guess what we found?  The new spot Le Pigeon is opening, Little Bird.  It is my mission to get myself my own permanent seat at the bar.

I found an insane mushroom man at the farmers market on SW 21st.

Time to go home, French Onion Soup at Wilf’s before I board the train.

Met some awesome people to share the ride home with.  This is our table after destroying a meat and cheese selection and a few bottles.

Opening night of Showa  in Fremont.  It’s an Izakaya, a small Japanes ber that serves small plates.  Average plate is 5 bucks.  We ordered all but one item off the menu.  Definitely check it out.  They only play the most awesomest of 80's music

I still think someone should pay me to eat…

I heard about the Pigeon experience from two who were there... Gabe outdid himself. Must have had the other diners wondering who the hell you guys were.

I want a seat at the upcoming bar, too. We were at Laurelhurst Market bar when I heard about Pigeon, and it's not bad. Still love their homemade tonic, with Aviation Gin.
