Fried Cubes of Liquid Foie Gras…
Saturday, July 10 With my favorite Portland eating accomplices… we seek refuge form the heat and find air conditioning at “The Gilt Club”. we have a delicious copper mug of Bourbon, lime , and soda.
A Plate of house made chicharones arrive at the bar while the skins still crackle in front of us.
Oooh, a cherry bourbon Manhattan with on large ice cube!
Charcutterie with all sorts of liver flavor!
The charcuterie platter had these little cubes of fried Foie Gras… they exploded liquid foie into the mouth… we ordered more!
We also had dinner at LaurelHurst Market, where the bartender hand carved a block of ice into a peice that would fit in the cup for a manhttan, and had an amazing dinner of bone marrow, sweetbreads, mac and cheese, moules et frites, and hand pulled mozzarella... i decided toi leave camera behind and focus on my food going in mouth.
Willischwab and i decide to over eat one night, and turn leftover shredded pork into pork and rice cakes, brandied mushrooms, rare new york steak, and slow cooked egg yolk.... mmmm
