Pope House Bourbon Lounge, Home Cookin, Work Cookin, Nong’s Khao Man Gai, Matador, Fried Chicken and Collards, Polyscience Smoking Bacon

Before I leave town, I must have Chicken and Waffles And Collards

Portland for my fourth or fifth trip this month….

I arrive just in time for All day Happy Hour at Pope House Bourbon Lounge

And start my week off with Deviled Eggs, fried ham and cornbread balls, and Frito Pie.  I also started my bourbon punch card, which will get me my own horseshoe on the wall as well as 10% bourbon discount for LIFE.  They have just a few types of bourbon to choose from.

Time for dinner and for a change of pace, we decide to make some food at home.  With a team made up of myself, Willischwab, and Sous Chef Willisbaldschwabwin, we bang out some Schmaltz toast (like crack-bread) with stink (but incredibly delicious) cheese, Watermelon/Watercress Salad, and Braised Chicky Thighs and Cous to the Cous. Nam Nom

Okay, time to go to work and prep for my dinner event.  Time out, lunch time at Nong’s Khao Man Gai.

 I Love You Nong

We handled the din din and all were jolly.

After work, and after a visit to the Driftwood Room in my home away from home, Hotel Deluxe,

Schmank Schmawtell comes up with the plan to keep it punk rocker style and we head over to the Matador

This IS NOT the Matador that you may know in Seattle/Redmond.  These are the awesome toilets I peed in.  We ordered our various fried items, bourbon, and Nachos… and then a table tent at the table showed a picture of the King Tot!  A Gigantic Tater Tot with your choice of toppings.  Damn…  I will be back to take you out Mr. King Tot.

Get home, Smoke Bacon with my new PolyScience Smoking Gun
