Little Truby Goes to Highland Kitchen in Boston
Saturday, June 18 Howdy everyone. This is Truby's little brother posting on your internets all the way from the East coast. For those of you who don't know me, here's what you should imagine: start with the Truby you all know and love, remove the fedora, gold sunglasses, and about 30 pounds, and you get Little Truby. You can also go ahead and subtract the developed flavor palette, knife skills, and about 90% of his cooking ability, and that will get you a Little Truby, too. Anyhoo, Truby's been kind enough to let me share some of my restaurant adventures with you. I hope you enjoy it.
Last night, my girlfriend and I celebrated a week of total domination by going to Highland Kitchen, which is a local restaurant bar and grill that never disappoints in food or drink. We're both very ashamed to admit that last night was only the second time we've been there. It's an amazing place that has something for pretty much everyone. Even competitive wordnerds will get a kick out of their Tuesday night spelling bees. Now, on to the food!
We started with an appetizer of ricotta and mozzarella fritters with a chile-honey dipping sauce.
These were basically a combination of fritters, cheese sticks, and cream-filled donuts. The chile-honey sauce was more honey than chile, but the pepper seeds floating around added a nice touch of spice.
For dinner, the missus got a grilled salmon with spring vegetable ragout (potatoes, asparagus, peas, and artichoke). 
I don't remember more of the details because it was on special (meaning the details were all spoken to us) and I wasn't the one eating it. The salmon was a little dry, but the vegetables were delicious.
I ordered the blackened catfish po'boy with remoulade, lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles on french bread.
The catfish was peppery and, as the description says, blackened to a crisp, which gave it a nice, almost fried texture. Despite the crispiness, the fish stayed soft and moist, which made for a great po'boy.
For dessert I had a bourbon pecan pie and the lady got a strawberry rhubarb crisp, which we didn't take pictures of because they looked exactly how you would imagine a pecan pie and strawberry rhubarb crisp would look. They were also just as tasty as you imagine.
